We develop from scratch a variety of application customization products as well as industry-specific solutions. With the help of our technical design department, we also manufacture customized products and tailor-made solutions.
We also have great resources for customized products and tailor-made solutions. Hagaberg has its own design department and a dedicated production line for specialty solutions, such as rebuilding of masts and cabins. This results in flexibility throughout the entire production chain, as well as added value such as short lead times, full access to spare parts and consulting before and after production.
Customer case: Findus
The goal was to streamline the handling of barrels with ingredients for pasta sauces. The challenge was both in the function of lifting the barrels and the start / stop function when emptying.
Findus Sweden is the market leader in frozen vegetables, fish and ready-made dishes in Sweden. The company was founded in 1941 and has a turnover of SEK 2.6 billion with 220 employees in Sweden. Findus Sweden is part of Nomad Foods Europe (NFE), Western Europe's largest food company in the frozen food category. The group has 4,300 employees in 15 countries and 10 factories in Europe.
A customized clamping attachment of the model - Double C-pipe was designed and manufactured for the pallet handler. In order to grip the barrel, instead of forks, the attachment was equipped with arms of squared steel tubes, which were equipped with a clamp, with resilient concave plates. This made the lifting of the barrel soft and safe. Furthermore, a tipping function (rotation) was developed. When the barrel was lifted and moved to the correct production station, the operator could easily empty the barrel directly from the fork lift truck. A start / stop button was added so that the operator could use the function for dosing. Here as well, it was important to have both a soft rotation and a start / stop.
Pulp and paper
Customer case: Daily Mirror
The Daily Mirror, founded in 1903, is published by MGN Ltd, which is part of Reach PLC. Reach PLC is Britain's largest daily newspaper, magazine and digital publisher. The printed and digital publications reach 38.6 million readers each month. Reach PLC's has publications in England, Scotland and Wales, with over 150 newspapers and more than 80 websites.
The goal was an attachment that could handle paper rolls both smoothly and safely. Specific requirements were that the forks should be very smooth to reduce the risk of damaging the paper rolls and there should be no hydraulics.
The AGV forklift truck was equipped with a tailor-made two-axis Pin-type attachment. In order to achieve the friction requirement, angled forks with polished stainless-steel plates were constructed. No hydraulics were to be used so we found a solution with worm gear and ball screws powered by an electric motor.
During the project, we were also given the assignment to manufacture and mount the chassis of the lift truck (according to the customer's drawing).
We have designed so-called clear-view frames for a number of customers. The demands of the customers have differed somewhat, so the models are not identical. However, the basic change is the same. The middle cylinder of the frame is replaced with two smaller cylinders. In this case, they are placed on the outside of the frame, thus increasing the driver's free vision.
