Why invest in sensor forks?
20% of all machine accidents at work involves a forklift truck. Most reports of work-related accidents leading to sick leave, involves a forklift truck. That is 20% of all machine accidents. From 2008 to 2012, 87 fatal accidents related to machinery work were reported in Sweden. This is one third of all fatal accidents at work. This number of accidents related to machinery work were reported to the Swedish Work Environment Authority. This includes both mobile, stationary and handheld machines. In total approximately 30,000 accidents leading to sick leave for at least one day were reported during the period 2008 – 2012. This means about 6,000 accidents annually, with a small dip for the recession year 2009. The proportion of machine accidents is thus around 20 percent of the total number of reports.
