Findus Sweden is a leading player in frozen vegetables, fish, and ready meals in Sweden. The company is part of Nomad Foods Europe (NFE), one of Europe’s largest frozen food companies.
Challenge & Solution
The solution is a custom-built clamp attachment for a pedestrian stacker, enabling safe and gentle lifting of drums while giving the operator full control during emptying and dosing. The challenge lay both in the lifting function and in achieving precise start/stop control during emptying.
Spring-loaded clamp design
Hagaberg developed a fully customized clamp attachment based on a double C-profile. Traditional forks were replaced with square tube arms equipped with a clamp. The clamp features spring-loaded concave pads designed to grip the drums gently and securely without causing damage.
Emptying and dosing
A tipping function was also developed, allowing the operator to rotate the drum and empty its contents directly from the truck. In addition, the control lever for the tipping function was equipped with a start/stop button, enabling precise dosing using the same function. The combination of smooth rotation and precise control improves safety, efficiency, and overall process control.
